31 Conscious Brands Made In Africa And Beyond To Shop Now
Being even more intentional was one the great lessons 2020 left us with. As a way to keep that in mind and in the light of our interview with ethical fashion expert Jacqueline Shaw back in November 2020, we decided to take you through an exploration of sustainability throughout December over our social media. Everyday we were introducing a new inspiring brand that was either built on environmental and social impact or on the promotion of African textiles heritage. Discover our 2020 Conscious Countdown for a better shopping.

As we wrapped up our Conscious Countdown of 31 brands navigating their way through their social and environmental impact, we wanted to show you how plural sustainability is. Whether it is about reducing waste or contributing to better living and working conditions for artisans - through native arts and crafts' promotion - the ultimate vision is always to create opportunities that will fairly benefit all the parties involved, while being mindful of our environmental footprint. Of course this list was not exhaustive, especially when we know that sustainability is more of an inherent feature than an option for most of the brands on the continent considering their local challenges. But we wanted to let you with this: sustainability is not a mere straight line or unique rule but a process we can all strive for.
